THE DAILY RECORD – SCOTLAND 'S NEWSPAPER FOR IGNORING BIGOTRY
By Mal Content
Even by the appalling, prejudiced and sickening standards of the Daily Record, Monday's front page is a national disgrace.
On Sunday afternoon the MAJORITY of the 7,500 Rangers fans at the Celtic versus Rangers match at Celtic Park poisoned and polluted Scottish football with their full repertoire of bigoted bile.
The Daily Record's response is a front page headline about Neil Lennon throwing a water bottle at an empty Rangers dugout at the end of the game because the Celtic Captain was furious about losing and had a verbal slanging match with one Celtic fan.
On Sunday the majority of Rangers fans sang sectarian songs, sang eulogising chants about loyalist paramilitary murder squads, sang sickening songs about the Pope and First Minister Jack McConnell's wife and performed their evil and macabre dance to celebrate the killing of Catholics.
Silence from the Daily Record about Rangers fans' bigoted behaviour, no photographs of Rangers fans' vile deeds, but instead the camera zooms in on Neil Lennon!
A huge number of Rangers fans gave their infamous Nazi salutes, which these bigoted scum excuse as ‘Red Hand of Ulster' salutes. There is NO such thing as a Red Hand of Ulster salute, as evidenced by quotes from the loyalist paramilitary murderers the Rangers fans pay homage to.
Some Rangers fans also mocked the death of the Celtic fan in Milan last week.
The Daily Record's response to Rangers fans' obscenities? Focus on a trivial fracas involving Neil Lennon!
AND, worst of all, hundreds of Rangers fans performed a vile ‘airplane imitation' to taunt Celtic's Japanese midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura and simultaneously desecrate the graves and ridicule the deaths of hundreds of thousands of victims of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombs.
How sick in the head do you have to be to perform such a vile act?
Well, as sick in the head as those in the media who choose to ignore such barbaric behaviour from Rangers fans, who turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to it and who publish not a word about the sickening scene of Naka taking a corner kick with a backdrop of scum pretending to be airplanes. Instead these apologists for bigotry highlight a trivial incident involving Neil Lennon!
Compare and contrast this morning's Record headline with the one of autumn 2001 when, in the morning after a Celtic v Rangers match at Ibrox, the Daily Record's front page headline concerned ONE moronic Celtic fan who taunted Rangers' Claudio Reyna with an airplane gesture. This eejit was hounded by the Record for days afterwards, and even when the fact that he was mentally handicapped came to light, the Record still pursued him with vigour.
Hundreds of Rangers fans taunt Naka with an equally obscene act of barbarism and not a word from the Daily Record!
The Scottish media, and that includes the Daily Record, have a responsibility to publish the truth, but instead today's Record attempts to airbrush history to suit the Record's agenda. Hitler and Stalin would be proud of such a press cover up.
Scotland's sectarian shame – the Daily Record is part of the problem and is not part of the solution.
Shame on them!
tja, dem team der blauen trotzdem glückwunsch zum sieg.
