Ich stelle mal einen meiner treusten Begleiter von früher vor.
Also, vielmehr habe ich ihn begleitet, da ich einige Jahre überall hingepilgert bin, wo er aufgetreten ist. Nein, keine grossen Hallen geschweige denn Stadien. Er spielte in Discos (heute nennt man das Clubs), Jugendheimen, Kneipen. Spezialität waren seine Heiligabendkonzerte. Da war natürlich zu Hause Freude, wenn die Familie Heiligabend nicht komplett war.

Das stimmt.
Aber generell in Deutschland schon recht unbekannt.
Groß anfangen konnten die Gäste im Club auch nie was mit seiner Musik.
Außer es waren Touristen aus Holland da, die waren begeistert und haben mir dann Freigetränke ans DJ-Pult gebracht.

Kann aus Zappa`s Werken überhaupt eine Bestenliste erstellt werden oder ist das Gesamtwerk dahingehend nicht zu sezieren sondern als ein Universum mit leuchtenden Sternen anzusehen?
Ist Sheik Yerbouti als kommerziell erfolgreichstes Album deswegen auch der am hellsten leuchtende Stern in diesem Universum? Sind nicht die Verkaufszahlen nur deshalb so hoch, weil Bobby Brown darauf ist ? Kommen Werke, die dem Mainstream durch (falsch) wahrgenommenes Chaos und Dissonanz wahrscheinlich missfallen eigentlich nicht dem Verständnis Zappas näher?
Mich interessiert mal von den Zappisten hier, ob ein Album bevorzugt gesehen (gehört) wird oder auch das Gesamtwerk als Einheit gesehen wird?!

Ich habe schon Jethro Tull gehört, da bist du noch mit den Kaulquappen geschwommen.


Und was haben wir das "Aqualung"-Album gehört, als es Anfang der 70er rauskam...


Zwar nicht aus dem "Aqualung"-Album aber einer der geilsten Songs von Jethro Tull:
